Northumbria Loft Conversions

Michael Douglas begun his career in May 1977 as an apprentice joiner working in London and Germany on many developments. In 1995 Michael set up the firm known as Northumbria Loft Conversions, acting then as a sole trader. The first project (pictured right) was undertaken in Craster, close to Michaels home village of Howick, and was completed in April 1995.

Through hard work and determination the business grew in both size and reputation to its current position now employing ten timeserved tradesmen and on the verge of becoming a Limited Company.

Now the company carries out approximately 20 conversion/extension projects per year handling projects upto £500,000 along with many smaller contracts and has recently begun undertaking complete new builds.

All the Northumbria Loft Conversions tradesmen are interviewed by the Company Director to ensure that only tradesmen able to meet our very high standards are employed. Most of the teams (tradesmen) have been with Northumbria Loft Conversions for several years, therefore enabling our expertise and experience to grow year-on-year. In addition where sub-contractors are used on a project managed by Northumbria Loft Conversions they are hand picked and must come highly recommended to be considered.
